White Christmas to Snow Birds

After spending a week in Wisconsin with Ellie's family, we flew down to Florida to spend time with Brian's family. The weather is a stark difference from a white Christmas to sunny, warm, sunsets on the Gulf of Mexico. We are having a wonderful time visiting Brian's Dad, sister and her family.

A Christmas Carol

When I was growing up, a family tradition was seeing "A Christmas Carol" during the Christmas season. We continued the tradition with Dad and Mom for a performance by the Milwaukee Repertory at the Pabst Theater http://www.pabsttheater.org/carol.html.

There's No Place Like Home...Especially for Christmas!

Home is more than a house decorated for Christmas, with a tree, lights, Christmas baking and hung stockings. It's about the birth of Jesus and celebrating that with family and friends. Merry Christmas!

Snow, Sleet, Freezing Rain...Oh My!

We're expecting a wintry mix. Not a drop, flake or pellet had fallen this morning and counties were already announcing early school release.

One for the "W" Column

Well, they come few and far between this year. It sure wasn't pretty, but we'll take any Packer win we can get, even if it's in OT.

More Snow!

We are suppose to get a few inches of snow tonight. Watch out for the cars loaded down with milk, bread and toilet paper! I'll keep you posted on whether this is the 50% that the meteorologists were right or the 50% that they were not.

Let is snow, let it snow, let it snow!

I love snow. Living in the mid-Atlantic, we have few snow events a season; however, we're gearing up for first one of the season tomorrow (predictions are 2-4 inches). For you Midwest dwellers, it is quite an hysterical event to have snow here. My first experience 11 years ago, was most laughable. First of all, you learn not to go to the grocery store, an inch of snow brings out those who, for whatever reason, feel they are going to run out of such staples as milk, bread and toilet paper. Second, driving is at your own risk. Third, if you have school-aged children, even an inch of snow can mean school cancellation and most definitely delays.

However, for us "brave" souls who enjoy venturing out in any blizzard or snow depth, it's a great time to see the monuments and memorials. There's nothing like seeing the Capitol or White House during a snow storm. Bring on the snow!

Injured Spectator

Once again, two Green Bay interceptions cost the Packers 14 points. It actually physically hurts to watch this season.
